Justin Bieber The Latest Victim Of 'Swatting'
Armed police have been called to Justin Bieber's home in southern California after he was the latest celebrity to be targeted in a "swatting" prank.
An unknown person apparently dialled the US emergency number 911 claiming a man was waving a gun around in the grounds of the property in Calabasas.
A SWAT team was sent to the pop star's home, where they established that the call was fake.
Although no one at the house had reported an intruder, showbiz website TMZ said officers were let in to search the house where they found nothing.
It also claims two neighbouring homes were investigated.
Acting stars Aston Kutcher and Miley Cyrus have also been victims of swatting hoaxers.
Armed police were sent to Kutcher's Lake Hollywood home last week after a woman contacted the emergency services to report she was hiding in a closet because a man with a gun had broken into the property.
The house was searched and footage recorded by a local television network showed workers coming out of the property with their hands up, before they were detained as a precaution.
Kutcher was not at home at the time and later tweeted that he was "safe and sound".
In August, a kidnapper was reported to have entered Cyrus' home in a similar hoax. According to police, she was also out at the time.
