Kaiser Chiefs axe Mexico gig
The Kaiser Chiefs have cancelled a gig in Mexico over safety concerns.
The I Predict A Riot stars were due to play in a baseball stadium in San Pedro, near Monterrey, on 18 March but they've apologised to fans after calling it off.
Bassist Simon Rix has told devotees the band was advised to avoid the area after a recent rise in crime.
In posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "Sorry people with tickets for Monterrey, we were advised it was a bad idea right now. Hope you can make one of our other Mexican shows.
"We would honestly like to do the show. We hate cancelling but got told we had to. Personally I'd love to come. Hate cancelling. And maybe we should have come last year. But not right now. Think it's cause of the guns, drugs, violence. Worse in Monterrey than other places we are playing."
The band is expected to go ahead with its planned stops in Mexico City and Guadalajara.
