Kate Upton Agrees To YouTube Date Request
Model Kate Upton has agreed to go to a prom with a US high school student who asked her out on YouTube.
Jake Davidson, 17, posted a two-minute clip explaining why the Sports Illustrated cover model should go with him.
The tongue-in-cheek video - which has had around 800,000 views - shows Davidson in various locations, including the shower, while he sets out his pitch.
His efforts appear to have paid off, with Upton tweeting: "You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule ;)"
The 20-year-old model also surprised him by phoning in while he was being interviewed on NBC's Today show.
Leaving Davidson momentarily speechless, she told him: "I absolutely love the video - it was hilarious.
"I definitely have to check schedules," she added. "But you seem like so much fun and if everything works out, I'd love to go with you. I know we'd have a blast."
Upton has been the face of the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition for the past two years.
The Michigan-born model has also been on the cover of Italian Vogue and starred in a much-publicised car advert during this year's Super Bowl half-time show.
However Upton is not the only famous face to have been asked out on YouTube.
Actress Mila Kunis went on a date with a US Marine sergeant in 2011, while singer Justin Timberlake also accepted a date with a female marine in the same year.
