Kate Winslet Honoured With Hollywood Star
Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stepping out to receive her brass plaque hours after an earthquake shook Tinseltown.
The Briton, best known for her role in Titanic, joked the 4.4-magnitude earthquake came as she was preparing to breast feed her three-month-old son.
"It frightened me quite a lot actually," she said.
Winslet's name is the 2,520th to be added to the Hollywood Boulevard.
The 38-year-old, who won the Academy Award for best actress in 2009 for her part in The Reader, added: "I feel very honoured, 20 years into my career, to be standing in such a poignant place, being celebrated in such spectacular fashion.
"I'm completely overwhelmed by the number of people who are here. I had no idea this was going to be such a well-attended event."
Mother-of-three Winslet, whose other films include Revolutionary Road and The Holiday, stars alongside Jennifer Ehle and Alan Rickman in forthcoming movie A Little Chaos.
Her other future projects include The Dressmaker and Triple Nine, both of which are due out in 2015.
