Kathy Bates angry about fake party promotion

Actress Kathy Bates has warned fans against attending a breast cancer fundraising party in New York in the hope of seeing her there - because she never agreed to turn up.

The Titanic star, who underwent a double mastectomy this summer after doctors found a lump in her breast, is advertised as a star guest at the Pink Party on Saturday, but Bates insists she has no links to the bash.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Ricky P Events is falsely using my name to sell tickets to the Pink Party in NY. Don't be fooled, Tweeps! Demand your money back."
