Katy Perry 'Blasphemous' Video Is Edited
A Katy Perry music video accused of portraying blasphemy has been edited following complaints from Muslims.
A petition was started on change.org calling for the Dark Horse video to be taken off YouTube.
In one scene a man is shown being burnt by lightning while wearing a pendant forming the word "Allah".a
That pendant has now been removed from the YouTube video after more than 65,000 people signed the petition saying it was offensive and inappropriate.
The video now shows a gold chain with nothing hanging on the end of it.
Shazad Iqbal who started the petition said: "Guys I'm thrilled to let you all know the name of Allah has been removed from the 'Dark Horse' video. We couldn't have done it without everyone's support so I thank each and every one of you deeply, our voices have been heard! God bless you all."
It is not known who altered the video. Sky News has contacted YouTube for a comment.
Mr Iqbal wrote: "This clearly shows that our voice has been heard, having gained so much publicity on the matter and by getting everybody talking we have put the message out there that such inappropriate material will not be accepted.
"Although the petition will be closed, the cause shall not be abandoned and I feel we have accomplished a lot in a peaceful manner as intended and I look forward to hearing on the progress made."
