Kay wants to be Strictly contestant

Vernon Kay is keen to become a contestant on his wife Tess Daly's show Strictly Come Dancing.

The former T4 presenter has been rumoured to be taking over as Daly's co-host from Sir Bruce Forsyth when he eventually steps down from the role.

Kay has previously brushed off the rumours and now he wants to distance himself from the job further - by competing as a celebrity dancer in an upcoming series.

He tells The Sun, "I have never had that conversation (about replacing Bruce) with anyone. But I would like to give it a go as a contestant. Hopefully that would put all that other talk to bed."

But Kay has stepped into Forsyth's role in a remake of his former show Play Your Cards Right.

And the host insists the veteran entertainer has given his blessing for him to make the programme, adding, "He said to me: 'If anyone's going to do it, it should be you. Give me a ring if you want any advice.'"

what do you think?
