Kelly Brook snubbed I'm A Celeb... for risque revue
Kelly Brook snubbed an offer to appear on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! to take a role in a risque revue show in London.
The Piranha 3D star joined the cast of Crazy Horse's Forever Crazy at the start of the month and extended her week-long run due to popular demand.
Brook now reveals TV bosses offered her the chance to fly to the remote Australian jungle to take part in the reality series, but she declined their invitation because she wanted to join the stage show.
She tells the Daily Mail, "We are so overwhelmed with reality shows that there isn't much opportunity to showcase your talent because it's not as entertaining as watching someone eating bugs in the jungle.
"I might have the wrong attitude when it comes to my career, but I felt that I would rather be in this (revue) show, watched by 400 people than be on a show I am not passionate about being watched by 10 million."
Brook approached promoter Harvey Goldsmith about her role in Forever Crazy, and the businessman admits he was stunned by her direct behaviour.
He adds, "I was a bit gobsmacked, to be honest. Kelly and her boyfriend came up to me after the show and she said: 'I love this show and I want to be in it.' Then her managers started calling me up saying she wanted to be in the show. Then she started tweeting about it."
The star's run in the show came to an end on Thursday, and Brook was surprised with a cake backstage to mark her 33rd birthday on Friday.
