Kraftwerk to stage London residency

German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk have signed up for an eight-night residency in London next year.
The Tour de France hitmakers will perform their eight albums on consecutive nights as part of an innovative 3D spectacle at the Tate Modern gallery's Turbine Hall next February.
Tate Modern director Chris Dercon says, "As a former power station, Tate Modern's Turbine Hall is an ideal venue for Kraftwerk's explorations of technology, energy and rhythm. Bringing together music, video and performance, these events will be true gesamtkunstwerk - a total work of art."
The 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 series will take in the same format as the retrospective shows Kraftwerk staged at New York's Museum of Modern Art in April.
The band will perform the tracks from their first album Autobahn on 6 February.
