Kristen Stewart Affair: Wife 'Files For Divorce'

The wife of British director Rupert Sanders, who was ensnared in a cheating scandal last year with Twilight star Kristen Stewart, has filed for divorce, say reports.

British model and actress Liberty Ross filed divorce papers in Los Angeles on Friday, six months after the affair was uncovered, TMZ has claimed.

She is reportedly seeking joint custody of the couple's two young children.

Sanders is reported to have also asked for joint custody of the kids, who are five and seven, in his response filing.

Photographs were released in July of Sanders and Stewart - the star of his movie Snow White and the Huntsman - kissing in the Hollywood hills.

The scandal prompted public apologies from both parties that appeared to confirm the affair.

"I am utterly distraught for the pain I have caused my family," Sanders said at the time.

He and Ross were photographed together a few times in the following months.

Sanders is reportedly out as the director of the Snow White sequel, which will also star Stewart.

Stewart's long-term boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson broke things off in the wake of the scandal but the two have since been reconciled.

Attempts by Sky News to reach Ross and Sanders' lawyers were unsuccessful.
