Lee Ryan excused from jury duty over judge connection
Lee Ryan was excused from jury duty after the judge recognised him - because she had once sold him a horse.
The Blue singer was summoned to serve as a juror in an assault case at Oxford Crown Court this week but was allowed to leave after the presiding judge realised she shared a connection with Ryan.
As the singer took his seat on the panel, Judge Mary Jane Mowat asked him, "Don't I know you?" to which the star replied, "If you like music you might have done. I haven't been to court or anything."
The judge then told him, "I was thinking more about horses... I would ask that you please stand down," and officially dismissed Ryan from the courtroom.
The All Rise hitmaker later took to his Twitter.com blog to explain his link to Mowat, telling fans, "Haha!! It was funny!!! I was buying a horse off of the judge!! It's coz (because) I'm posh."
