Liam Hemsworth receives Aussie film honour
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus made their first red carpet appearance together since announcing their engagement at the Australians In Film (AIF) Awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The stars confirmed plans to marry earlier this month following a three-year romance, and they made their official debut as an engaged couple as The Hunger Games actor was honoured at the gala in Century City, California.
Cyrus wore her diamond engagement ring as she accompanied her Aussie beau to the event, where he picked up the Film Breakthrough Award for his blossoming career.
AIF President Andrew Warne says, "We are delighted to honour Liam Hemsworth with the 2012 Breakthrough Award. The string of his upcoming films demonstrates an undeniable star power. From The Expendables 2... and Paranoia... to Arabian Nights... we believe this is only the beginning for (him)."
Actress Abbie Cornish and singer Natalie Imbruglia were among the other stars from Down Under who attended the prizegiving.
