Liam Payne: 1D Star 'Sorry' Over Ledge Photo
One Direction star Liam Payne has been forced to apologise after posting a photograph on Twitter showing him standing on a ledge of a skyscraper 34 floors above the ground.
The singer told his followers what he had done was "extremely dangerous", "stupid" and "irresponsible".
The 20-year-old posed for a friend's photo on the ledge of the tower block, which is in London's Docklands, as the city's lights shone below him.
Payne tweeted: "You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken.
"It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous."
The photo has now been removed from Twitter.
In a series of tweets three hours before his apology, Payne had asked people to "stop coming and waiting outside" his house.
He also said he was sorry if he had been "rude" to anyone.
He said: "I know my friends have tweeted a lot of pictures of my house the past few days but can people please stop coming and waiting outside.
"I'd just like to be able to walk outside as everyone does and enjoy time with my friends, not feel bad for not wanting to take a picture.
"Sorry if I've been rude to anyone but I've come to realise if I take one picture more people keep coming everyday xxx hope everyone's good."
In September, firefighters were called to Payne's flat after a fire broke out on the balcony.
Two men and a woman were treated for burns but the star was unharmed.
