Lianne La Havas feared for her life during serious illness

Soul singer Lianne La Havas feared for her life when she was rushed to hospital with a serious kidney infection.

The Mercury Prize nominee, 23, axed a string of concerts last month due to the severity of her illness and even quit drinking in a bid to change her party-loving lifestyle.

She tells the Daily Star, "I feared for my life when I got sick as I haven't been in hospital since I was a child. But I've never felt better than when I came out of hospital and my lifestyle has changed now. My voice is much stronger as I've quit smoking as well."
