Lil Wayne sued over alleged song sample

Lil Wayne has been slapped with a lawsuit from a producer over allegations of copyright infringement.

Robert Poindexter, who worked on a number of tracks for 1970s R&B group The Persuaders, claims the Lollipop hitmaker illegally sampled the band's Love Gonna Pack Up (and Walk Out) illegally on his Cash Money Records artist Bow Wow's track Still Ballin'.

Poindexter is seeking £375,000 in damages, as well as interest.

The producer sued 50 Cent over the same track, which he alleged the In Da Club hitmaker had used on his free 2009 internet release Redrum, last year.
