Liza Minnelli returning to the Royal Festival Hall for first time in 40 years
Veteran entertainer Liza Minnelli is returning to the Royal Festival Hall next year for the first time in four decades.
The Maybe This Time hitmaker first played there in 1973, during a tour of her one-woman show Liza with a Z, and now she is heading back in March as part of The Rest Is Noise Festival, to sing a handful of tracks from hit musical Cabaret. Minnelli starred in the movie adaptation and won a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Sally Bowles.
She tells The Independent, "I'm always so excited to perform in London. I have so many friends and fans there. I consider it my second home. And, to be returning to the Royal Festival Hall after all this time, is thrilling; I remember bringing Liza with a Z there in the early 70s and having such a swell time. So I can't wait to see all you guys again."
