Lindsay Lohan's Mum Held For Drink-Driving
Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is facing a drink-driving charge after being caught speeding in New York.
The 50-year-old was stopped on Nassau County's Northern State Parkway at 11pm on Thursday after traffic police claim they saw her driving at 77mph in a 55mph zone.
Police said she had a blood alcohol concentration at 0.20%, which is more than twice the legal limit in New York.
Lohan was arrested, issued tickets and then released and is due to appear in court on September 24.
Her lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, issued a statement saying Lohan "appreciates the grave seriousness" of the situation.
But he added that since she has no prior record, Lohan would likely be treated "with even-handed fairness" by the courts.
Police called an ambulance and had medics examine Lohan who complained she had been hurt during the arrest but they say no injuries were found and she later withdrew the claim.
Lindsay Lohan, who shot to fame as a child actress and appeared in a number of films including Mean Girls, recently completed her sixth trip to rehab.
She admitted in an interview with Oprah Winfrey last month that she was an addict, but said she was working with a sobriety coach to stay clean.
