Lost Bowie footage found
Lost David Bowie concert footage from 1973 has been recovered by a retired cameraman.
Bowie performed Jean Genie on long-running BBC series Top of the Pops but the original footage was wiped by TV producers after it aired.
However, John Henshall, who shot music videos for Blondie and Queen, retained a copy of the performance for his own archive and stunned the music world on Sunday by showing off the video - which hadn't been viewed in 38 years - at the British Film Institute's annual Missing Believed Wiped event.
Henshall tells BBC News, "I just couldn't believe that I was the only one with it. I just thought you wouldn't be mad enough to wipe a tape like that... They'd been looking for it for years, hoping that somebody had maybe pointed an 8mm home movie camera at the screen, because there was no VHS (videocassettes) in those days."
