Malcolm Parker: Burglar On Run From Prison
A convicted armed robber is on the run after absconding from prison while on a home visit.
Malcolm Parker, who is serving a minimum of 20 years, went missing more than a week ago.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the 55-year-old was "not currently considered to be a direct threat to the public but we would advise that he is not approached".
Parker was released from HMP Blantyre House in Kent on a temporary licence at 8am on January 6, and was due to return at 5.30pm the same day but failed to turn up.
In 2005, he was sentenced to serve a minimum of 20 years after pleading guilty to eight counts of armed robbery at Kingston Crown Court.
Parker was described as black, balding, 6ft 1in tall and of medium build, with a distinctive one to two-inch scar on his left elbow.
Scotland Yard said that anyone who sees him should contact police immediately or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
