Man Robbed In Wheelchair Makes Appeal

A man subjected to a terrifying robbery in his wheelchair has appealed to people to help police catch his assailants.
Michael Gregory, who has Multiple Sclerosis, was travelling near his home in Newport when he was attacked.
The 57-year-old was threatened with a knife and forced to hand over a quantity of cash.
He suffered bruising after his head was pulled down by one of the offenders and spent a night in hospital.
Police have described the attack a month ago as "despicable and cowardly" but the robbers remain at large.
"I keep thinking that I've lost and they've won," said Mr Gregory. "They frightened me and I haven't had a good day since it happened. If anyone knows who is responsible then please contact the police."
The robbery took place along a riverside path towards Lysaght Village between 9.45pm and 10pm on September 12.
The thieves fled on two silver bikes towards Corporation Road.
Both offenders have been described as Asian, in their 20s, around 5ft 8ins tall and of average build. One wore a baggy grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The other had a round face, stubble and dark eyes. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top with a Nike logo, grey tracksuit bottoms with white stripes and white trainers.
Detective Superintendent Ian Roberts, of Gwent Police, said: "A victim has been targeted and left terrified by two offenders who have little or no regard for the most vulnerable people in our society.
"I would appeal to members of the public in Newport to assist us by offering us any information they may have, whether they saw something suspicious or have heard any information about who may be responsible."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Michael, I hope you can soon wipe this memory from your mind and get on with your life. With descriptions such as you gave I am sure they will soon be caught and if the judge has any "nuts", then they will be the losers. The people of your village will soon come out with the names of these animals.

They rob blind people, these days. They knock them over with their walking sticks. They've always robbed monks and nuns. Historically, that happened a lot but this is 2012 and you'd think, well, look at the news, even school girls are attacked. What is the World coming to? People in wheelchairs being robbed? The punishment for attacking blind people or people in wheelchairs should be what? Even babies in prams! They attack babies in prams, these days. I despair, I truly do. The future for humanity is turning into WHAT?
