Man 'Taking Abuse Photos Kills Cousin And Girl'
A man has been accused of strangling his cousin and the woman's foster child after he was caught allegedly taking child abuse photos of the 10-year-old girl.
Brian Farmer, 58, is being held in New Jersey on first-degree murder and child endangerment charges.
Police said Farmer killed 62-year-old Joan Colbert in her Long Branch home on July 30 after she walked in on him taking abuse images of her foster daughter.
He then strangled the girl, Veronica Roach, before fleeing the home, authorities said.
Police arrested Farmer after a nearly two-week investigation revealed that he had been at the home a day before the victims' bodies were discovered.
Investigators also found the child abuse images on Farmer's mobile phone, according to prosecutors.
A cash-only bail of $2.5m was set by a judge on Thursday.
Farmer faces life in prison if convicted of the first-degree murder charges.
Neighbours said Ms Colbert had raised the young girl since she was an infant.
