McDonald's Worker Held Over Happy Meal Heroin
A McDonald's worker has been charged with selling heroin hidden inside Happy Meals at one of the restaurant's drive-throughs.
Shantia Dennis, 26, was arrested on Wednesday after undercover agents purchased heroin from the restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Customers looking to buy heroin were instructed to go through the East Liberty drive-through and say "I'd like to order a toy", according to authorities.
They would then drive to the window, hand over money and get a Happy Meal containing heroin in exchange.
Authorities said they found 10 bags of heroin in a Happy Meal box and recovered another 50 bags during the arrest.
Photographs of evidence gathered by police show bags of the drug in a children's meal box, alongside a Spongebob Squarepants toy.
Dennis denied she had been selling heroin, WPXI reported.
The Pittsburgh news channel said it was the second arrest of a McDonald's employee in the last two weeks for allegedly selling heroin from restaurants.
