McGregor's Nerves Before Working With Streep
Ewan McGregor has told Sky News meeting co-star Meryl Streep for the first time on the set of his new film was "nerve-wracking".
She has been nominated for 17 Oscars and is widely expected to receive another on Thursday for her role as Violet in August: Osage County.
The pair are part of an ensemble cast in the black comedy based on Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
McGregor plays Streep's son-in-law Bill who is separated from his wife Barbara, played by Julia Roberts.
The Scottish actor said he was nervous the first time he walked on to the set, but said Streep was great to work with.
"She's so generous and extraordinarily committed and passionate. Whether she's on camera or off camera she's playing the scene 100% for all of us which was lovely," he said.
Juliette Lewis, Benedict Cumberbatch and Abigail Breslin are just some of the other stars in the movie.
There is a violent fight scene between Streep and Roberts' characters which McGregor told Sky News was "quite something to see".
"It was pretty physical, it was quite something to be part of. They really went at it."
August: Osage County is released in cinemas on January 24.
