Melanie Griffith happy German award
Actress Melanie Griffith has thanked the "welcoming" citizens of Germany after her career was celebrated at the Munich Film Festival on Tuesday.
The Working Girl star was guest of honour at the event, where festival organisers premiered her new psychological thriller The Grief Tourist and screened a retrospective of her films, including Something Wild and Two Much.
Griffith later took to her Twitter.com page to share her delight with the tribute.
She tweeted, "Munich has been wonderful! I received the CineMerit Award last night. The people have been so welcoming and kind. Grief Tourist a big hit!"
Actor John Malkovich was the recipient of the prestigious lifetime achievement prize last year.
