Meloni to get his teeth into new True Blood role
Christopher Meloni is swapping Law And Order for True Blood after landing a role as a vampire in the hit TV show.
The actor quit his role as Detective Elliot Stabler in Law And Order: Special Victims Unit after 12 years on air and he is now returning to the small screen with a bloodthirsty new part.
Meloni will play "an ancient, powerful vampire" in the upcoming fifth season of True Blood, according to the show's creator Alan Ball.
He will star opposite True Blood regulars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.
