Michael Buble feted for songwriting skills
Michael Buble, DJ Deadmau5 and folk star Bruce Cockburn were honoured for their songwriting skills at an awards show in Canada on Monday night.
The Canadian stars were among those feted by the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada at a ceremony in Toronto.
Michael Buble won two prizes for his hit single Hollywood, which was named International Song and also honoured in the pop/rock category, and dance star Deadmau5 landed the International Achievement trophy.
Juno Award-winning rock group Trooper took home the National Achievement prize, and Cockburn won the Lifetime Achievement award.
Other winners included pop punk group Hedley, teenage singer Alyssa Reid, and R&B star JRDN.
