Mick Jagger involved in James Brown biopic

Rocker Sir Mick Jagger has confirmed reports he is to produce a James Brown biopic, insisting he is honoured to be involved.

The Rolling Stones frontman has joined forces with scriptwriters Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, and Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer, who is also in negotiations with The Help director Tate Taylor.

The film will be a co-production between Imagine and Jagger's company Jagged Films, and bosses are now looking for an actor to take the lead role as the Godfather of Soul.

Jagger tells Deadline.com, "It's a great honour to be involved with a project as rich as the story of the legendary James Brown. He was a mesmerising performer with a fascinating life."
