Mikaeel Kular: Mothers Pull Together For Boy
The area where missing Mikaeel Kular lives has not been described as "close-knit", but it is clear that everyone is united in their hopes for finding him.
Hundreds of volunteers attended a police briefing on the search for the missing three-year-old boy.
They were of all ages, on their own or with friends and family - and all bundled up in their warmest clothes.
But it was the many groups of mothers, with and without their children, who stood out most.
They empathised with how Mikaeel's mother "must be going mad". "Imagine if it was Jack," one asked her friend.
Mikaeel's family reportedly keep themselves to themselves, but as one woman said: "A community comes together in a crisis."
Her friend said: "I'd just like to think that if it was me, everyone would do the same."
One lady welled up with tears and could say nothing except that she felt "speechless" after finding out the news.
Mother and daughter Yvonne Bostock and Camilla Willett live in a neighbouring street and felt they had to do their bit.
"The more that get out there, the more chance you have of finding the little boy," Mrs Bostock said.
Mrs Willett said: "It must be horrendous what the family is going through."
After the briefing they set off to search gardens, hedgerows and any other area where a small boy could be seeking shelter.
As they walked off, two women's last words to me were: "We just hope we get some good news in this unimaginable situation."
