Miley Cyrus adopts new pooch

Miley Cyrus got more than she bargained for during a recent grocery shopping trip after adopting a dog which had been abandoned at the store.

The singer/actress was shopping at U.S. retailer Walmart when she found a puppy left to fend for itself outside.

Cyrus decided to take the dog home, and tweeted a snap of her new pet getting groomed on Wednesday.

She writes, "He was left in a box in front of Walmart. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. That's why we named him Happy."

Happy will have plenty of company at Cyrus' home - she has three other dogs; Lila, Floyd and Ziggy.
