Miley Cyrus Intruder Handed Restraining Order
A man convicted of trespassing at Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles home has had a three year restraining order imposed on him following a plea by the actress and singer.
Jason Luis Rivera was ordered by a Superior Court judge to stay away from former Hannah Montana star Cyrus.
The 40-year-old was convicted in October of trespassing at her home and of resisting arrest. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police said that at the time of his arrest in September Rivera told them he was a friend of the star and repeatedly threw himself against an outside wall as if trying to break in.
Cyrus was not at home during the incident.
Rivera was sentenced to 18 months in jail and is scheduled to be released in May.
He did not respond to Cyrus' petition for the restraining order, and the 20-year-old star did not attend the hearing. Her attorney declined to comment.
Cyrus came to fame for her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana.
Since her Disney days she has cultivated a more adult image, filming The Last Song in 2010, a coming-of-age drama that included her single Party In The USA.
