Model Laura Pahomova Falls From Hotel Balcony

A young model fell to her death from an apartment balcony at a hotel being used by delegates attending the Labour party conference.

The 23-year-old, who has been named in reports as Latvian model Laura Pahomova, plunged nine floors to her death at the Light Boutique Aparthotel in Manchester.

A number of people in the city for the party conference had been staying at the hotel complex, where the model is thought to have rented an apartment.

She apparently fell from one balcony onto another nine floors below and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the tragedy, which happened on Sunday morning, but said they are not treating the death as suspicious.

The hotel has 55 serviced apartments on its upper floors as well as some penthouse accommodation.

Labour delegate Dina Livingston told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I was in my room having a nap when the police knocked on my door. They said a woman had fallen on to a balcony and died.

"I think they were unsure whether it was an accident or not and were asking all the guests what they had seen. It's harrowing for someone to lose their life like this."

Ms Pahomova reportedly came to the UK from Latvia several years ago to study and live in Blackburn.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "On September 30 at 11.40am emergency services were called to a block of flats in Joiner Street, Piccadilly Gardens, following reports a woman had fallen from her balcony.

"Officers attended and found a 23-year-old woman had fallen from a balcony several floors up and landed on another balcony nine floors below.

"She suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death."

Hmmm, political conference going on....young attractive model books into hotel room....next thing you know, she's alledgedly 'throwing' herself off the balcony!!!!????? Nothing suspicious there then.......Yeah right!!!!! What about the possibility that she may have met up with someone that didn't want it public and wallop, down she goes!!!! Wouldn't be the first time!!! RIP Lovely Laura!

So, you're suggesting that someone killed her to stop some sordid liaison from going public, thereby getting her death reported in the national news. Very logical.

Adam have you ever thought of auditioning for the new inspector Clouseau. but you are right in one way; a model and politics. but you missed one very important piece of info, and that was she was renting a room in the hotel, as she has been staying there for a while. and i cant see the labour party renting out rooms in that specific hotel just cause their is a model staying there, just coincidence that both parties were present at the hotel at same time in my eyes. RIP

So sad and i hope is was just pure accidental. Hiw many times have we heard people falling from balconies...shouldnt the health and safety officer look at the size of the wall/railings ,as im begining to think they are too small..

A death is always sad. It just seems more so when a beautiful girl looses her life!

Sometimes we speak without thinking. On the internet you get time to have a split second to think about what you're about to type. Or not..
