Morrissey To Team Up With Cliff And Tom Jones

Morrissey has lined up Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tom Jones for two US concerts.

The controversial former Smiths frontman announced Sir Cliff would be his special guest at a concert in New York in June.

A performance with Sir Tom in Los Angeles is scheduled in May.

The Welshman confirmed he would be Morrissey's "special guest" on his Facebook page.

"We hope to see you there!" he wrote.

Sir Cliff said he was "delighted" to be joining Morrissey on stage.

American keyboard player Kristeen Young will also perform at both dates.

The two concerts are part of a US-wide tour announced by the singer.

They are the first confirmed shows for Morrissey, who abandoned a series of tours last year.

At the time he blamed a lack of funding and sickness as reasons for his cancelled dates.

"Cancellations and illness have sucked the life out of all of us," he wrote on fan site True To You last year, "and the only sensible solution seems to be the art of doing nothing."
