Mumford & Sons match Beatles US chart feat

Folk rockers Mumford & Sons have matched a Beatles record in the US by becoming the first band since the Fab Four to land six hits in the Billboard Hot 100 pop charts.

The four-piece's new album Babel debuted at the top of the Billboard album charts on Wednesday with the year's biggest first-week sales to date, and now the band is making history on the singles countdown.

Five debuts have joined I Will Wait on the chart, matching a feat the Beatles scored almost 50 years ago.

The other Mumford & Sons tunes making the chart this week are title track Babel, Lover's Eyes, Whispers in the Dark, Holland Road and Ghosts That We Knew.
