Natascha McElhone Gets Fatal Attraction Role
Natascha McElhone is to star in the first stage adaptation of Fatal Attraction, the film which sent shivers down the back of any prospective adulterer.
McElhone will play the character made famous by Glenn Close, that of deranged stalker Alex Forrest, who in one scene famously boils the pet rabbit of her ex-lover's family.
The 1987 film is the story of how a casual fling goes wrong when Forrest becomes obsessed with lawyer Dan Gallagher, played by Michael Douglas.
Close was nominated for an Oscar for her role as the obsessive other woman in the box office hit.
McElhone, who starred in the Jim Carrey film The Truman Show, lives in London with her three children.
She has also starred in Julian Fellowes' adaptation of Romeo And Juliet and alongside George Clooney in Steven Soderbergh's futuristic love story Solaris.
The full cast of Fatal Attraction, including who will play the part taken by Douglas in the film, will be announced later.
The play, directed by Trevor Nunn, opens at the London's Theatre Royal Haymarket on March 25.
