Nicole Scherzinger offered We Found Love before Rihanna

Former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger turned down the chance to record Rihanna's hit track We Found Love.

The Grammy Award-winning song was originally written by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris for singer Leona Lewis, but after the Bleeding Love hitmaker rejected the tune, it was offered to Scherzinger.

And the 34-year-old beauty regrets passing on the dance-pop single because Rihanna turned it into a chart-topper.

Scherzinger tells Notion Magazine, "I passed on We Found Love. I've got the demo of that song and I was busy at the time. They'd sent me a few dance tracks and I wasn't able to get to them and I was like, 'Oh there's so much dance and I want to take a break from it.'

"That was my fault. I slept on it."
