Noel Gallagher full of praise for David Bowie's comeback
Noel Gallagher has praised David Bowie's "mindblowing" comeback and is hoping the veteran star's 'secret' album will put an end to reunion concerts.
The former Oasis rocker was astonished when the Starman hitmaker marked his 66th birthday in January by releasing his first new music for a decade as a precursor to a secretly-recorded new album.
Gallagher is adamant Bowie has planned a perfect comeback and advises veteran bands not to be tempted to get back together for money-spinning reunion concerts, but to follow Bowie's lead instead.
The Wonderwall hitmaker tells NME magazine, "I love his comeback single 'cos it's great to hear Bowie's voice singing something new... What it proved to me is that reunions are f**king s**te. If you had turned on the news and it had said, 'David Bowie is to do a f**king series of concerts next year,' everyone would have gone, 'Oh great, can't wait, that's it, let's talk about something else.' But we're still talking about that song. New music and records rule, but reunions for gigs are s**t, you know? The fact he kept his comeback a secret is mindblowing."
