Nora Ephron to be remembered at Writers Guild Awards
Tragic director Nora Ephron is to be honoured with a special tribute to celebrate her career achievements at the upcoming Writers Guild Awards.
The When Harry Met Sally screenwriter lost her battle with cancer last June and now she is to be commemorated during the 2013 awards ceremony in New York City on 17 February.
A statement from the President of the Writers Guild of America, East, Michael Winship, reads: "Nora Ephron's life and body of work were those of a quintessential New Yorker, but not only did she embody the sophistication, wit and energy of our city, she was also a loyal union member who walked the picket line and talked the talk on behalf of all her fellow writers."
Author Meg Wolitzer, whose novel This Is My Life was adapted by Ephron for the big screen in 1992, will lead the tribute.
