Not-So-Friendly Spider-Man 'Punches' Cop
A man dressed as Spider-Man has been arrested in New York's Times Square after allegedly punching a police officer who told him to stop harassing tourists.
Police say the officer intervened after Junior Bishop demanded at least $5 from a woman he posed for a picture with, instead of the $1 she offered him.
The officer told the 25-year-old he could only accept tips and not require payment.
Police say Bishop, who was at this point cursing and yelling, broke free from arrest after failing to produce identification and punched an officer in the face.
Onlookers, including other street entertainers Elmo and Mickey and Minnie Mouse, watched on as a scuffle broke out between the web slinger and two officers, which ended with Bishop's arrest.
The police officer who was punched received treatment for a cut and eye swelling.
Bishop has been charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
