O'Dowd recovering after knee surgery

Bridesmaids star Chris O'dowd has undergone surgery on his knee.

The Irish funnyman checked in to hospital on Wednesday and took to his Twitter.com blog before his operation to joke about the treatment with fans.

He wrote, "Thanks for the good wishes re. Operation. Don't worry, nothing serious, just a follow-up on my d**k reduction. #DodgyKneeCartlidge".

The surgery was a success and O'Dowd later updated his followers by posting, "I'm alive! Thank the lord I'm alive!"
