One Direction To Star In 3D Documentary
One Direction are teaming up with Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock for a behind-the-scenes 3D documentary film.
The announcement from Sony Pictures came on the day the quintet released their second album Take Me Home, which is expected to top the charts in the UK and US next week.
Spurlock said: "This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band.
"To capture this journey and share it with audiences around the world will be an epic undertaking that I am proud to be a part of."
The film, which is due to be released in August next year, follows similar documentaries by Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
Bieber's Never Say Never, which was released in 2011, grossed around £46m at the US box office.
One Direction won Best New Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday night.
They rose to fame on The X Factor in 2010 and have gone on to be one of the biggest pop sensations in recent years.
