Orlando Bloom Receives Hollywood Star In LA
Orlando Bloom has said he has "never been so happy to be walked over" after receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Lord Of The Rings actor was joined by his three-year-old son Flynn for the ceremony in Los Angeles.
He told fans gathered on Hollywood Boulevard: "We may have all heard actors complain that they feel walked on, trampled upon, occasionally overlooked, but that's just part of the business, right?
"Today, however, is a different story. Never have I been so happy to be walked over and trampled upon."
He added: "Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I'd be standing here receiving a star on this mythical walk of fame."
It was Bloom's role as the archer elf Legolas in Peter Jackson's adaptation of the JRR Tolkien books that gave him worldwide fame.
He followed with another blockbuster franchise, Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film series, further cementing his A-list star status.
The 37-year-old has also reprised his role of Legolas in the current Hobbit series.
Bloom married Australian model Miranda Kerr in 2010 and Flynn was born in January 2011. The pair announced they were separating last October.
Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker was also at the ceremony to support his Zulu co-star.
