Paddington Bear Film Trailer Released
A teaser trailer for the first film in Paddington Bear's 56-year history has been released.
The film, which is out in November, stars Colin Firth as the polite migrant bear from Peru and is being steered to screen by British producer David Heyman, the producer of the seven-time Oscar-winning Gravity.
The beloved character first appeared in 1958 in Michael Bond's long-running series of children's books.
There have been many television series and straight-to-TV films about the adventures of the little bear famous for his old hat, battered suitcase, duffle coat and love of marmalade sandwiches.
The storyline for the latest film is said to follow the comic misadventures of Paddington Bear, who travels to London in search of a home.
He meets the kindly Brown family, who read the label around his neck ("Please look after this bear. Thank you.") and offer him a temporary haven.
It looks as though his luck has changed until he catches the eye of a museum taxidermist, said to be played by Nicole Kidman.
The teaser shows Paddington's arrival at the station. The character is being created using CGI with the rest of the locations and actors filmed in live action.
The film, which also stars Jim Broadbent, Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Sally Hawkins and Peter Capaldi, is out in the UK on November 28.
