Pair's Close Shave As Mini Smashes Into College

Two people came within a few feet of being run over as a car crashed into a college just in front of them.

They were walking on a pavement next to the building when the driver of the Mini lost control and crossed a central reservation in Greater Manchester.

Police said the 21-year-old driver was badly hurt in the crash.

He suffered head injuries and was treated at Salford Royal Infirmary where his condition remains stable.

There was extensive damage to the building.

Police have released CCTV video of the crash at the junction of Manchester Road and Dane Street as they try to trace witnesses, including the two people who were seen close by.
