Pensioner Dies After Stones Thrown At House

Four boys have been arrested by detectives investigating the death of a pensioner after youths hurled stones at her house.
Joyce Moulson, 84, collapsed around 10 minutes after her terraced home in Bradford was attacked on Tuesday night.
She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead soon after she arrived.
The boys - two aged 12 and two aged 13 - were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
One of the 13 year olds has been released without charge.
Local residents described Ms Moulson as "a lovely old lady who always had time for you".
A post-mortem established the cause of death as heart-related illness - further tests are being carried out.
A friend and close neighbour said: "She was helpful, chatty and always had time for you and a tale to tell."
The woman, who asked not to be named, added: "She was just a lovely old lady. I heard the kids outside last night and basically ignored it because I'm so used to it now."
Nicola Taylor, 29, who lives on the other side of the road, said: "It's devastating. She must've been really, really scared.
"There's always a lot of kids hanging round on the corner. It's quite scary. We were really worried when we heard what had happened."
Another neighbour, Laura Schofield, 26, said: "I heard sirens last night but that's just a normal thing here."
Julie Taylor, who owns a shop near Mrs Moulson's house in Fair Road, said: "Youths are always jumping on the wall outside her house and in the garden. Some of them have no respect.
"I didn't know her personally but used to see her coming and going from her house. I'm shocked."
Police are patrolling the Wibsey area of Bradford following the incident, which happened at around 6pm.
Officers are also studying CCTV footage, a police spokesman said.

This is tragic news. This poor old lady going about her daily business for this to happen. Many kids are so out if control now it's unvievable. Rip Joyce x

This sad case is typical of the direction policing has taken these days. In past times these yobbos would have been moved on by the copper on the beat and this crime would have been prevented, but instead of prevention all the police do is turn up when it's too late and sift through recorded tape, this is what the bean counters call fighting crime. No doubt one of these yobs will be put away at greater expense than it would have been to have the area properly patrolled in the first place. If this was done on a national scale prevention instead of detection our prisons wouldn't be so full and our streets safer. It seems that common sense is just too expensive these days.

Hang them all, it's the only way to stop the population spiralling further downwards.

Where were these kids parents.poor lady sounds as though she was going through hell and for a neighbour to say,"im so used to it by now"shows a total lack of concern.

As I've said before, the problems are bad parenting and lack of discipline in today's society. It is possible, but highly unlikely, that these young perpetrators had been bingeing on cheap booze. Got it wrong again, Mr. Osborne.

the parents of these lads should be ashamed of themselves, what a way to bring up children to frighten an old lady to death. what-ever the age bring back corporal punishment. how sad for this womans family..

Andrea Hill
a lot of children have no respect these days and their parents are no better. country is a disgrace

This is nothing to do with policing. It is more based around the moral fibre around family structure. No longer are children being taught respect and social responsibility. All stems from laziness of parents who just stick their children in front of a PlayStation from age of 4. What is a kid aged 11 doing on the streets at night?

there familys will be out with the usual c***p .there not realy bad boys....this is all down to society . children are ammune to the police ,,why,,,because the police cant do nothing to them thanks to the dogooders in G.B.parents cant hit there own kids ,they have a good chance of ending up in court...WEE AS A COUNTRY ARE REALY F***KED

What is your point?

GillieLouise
I can not see why you have said this Ali. You may be correct but your comment is needless

Kids today are not disiplined at all. You only have to shop in supermarkets, the kids are allowed to run at full speed around the store with their parents present. Its a sad case when people can not enjoy the comfort of their own homes without these kids menacing. Bring back the birch and really hit these little horrors where it hurts. We are too soft with kids today. Ban them from pubs and get them to bed at a decent time.

The old kids today comments.... There's a great article I need to dig out in which a monk writes, explaining his disappointment in today youth's lack of respect and manners, lack of drive and ambition etc etc... Same old complaints - only written over 1000 years ago.

Gordon Berry
I think I saw rthe same article some time ago

Robbie369P .
What's your point? It's OK for kids to terrorise and kill elderly defenceless people because that's always been the way?

Tricky One
My point can be determined from the very first line of my comment..

Robbie369P .
"The old kids today comments.." Sorry, still don't see the point.

Tricky One
really?

No doubt I'll get blasted for this... Perhaps her death was just a coincidence. It's not as though the children were in her house robbing her and beating her. I'm not saying what they did was right! It showed a total lack of respect to an elderly lady and her property :( but to say these kids need hanging is ridiculous! I hope it was just a coincidence, her dying. Otherwise there will be young lives ruined before they are even really started.

Robbie369P .
Yeah, poor dears. Let's get them out to Centerparks, or better still, to your parents house

Nat_j2b
Robert don't be so pathetic. These are children! Like I said it is not right that they behave that way,but manslaughter?! They sure do need to learn a lesson but nobody knows for sure if the lady died as a direct result of them. My parents had issues with some little toe rags who would throw stuff about and sit on their garden wall smoking...my dad also has a heart complaint. He's still alive. Saying children need hanging or beating is making people sound as bad as the youths they are pointing the finger at!

Decline of society but the do gooders will find a reason (excuse)

Andy Smithies
Youths causing annoyance!!! This has been going on for ever and a day and will continue to do so. The difference is this lady suffered a heart attack which could have happened anytime but it coincided with these kids causing a nuisance! Manslaughter??? I dont think so, not in this country's statute books it isn't..

They were no different when i was young. Can even remember doing similar things when i was a young tear away without any understanding or consideration. Its not evil is being oblivious.

Sorry Jimmy, can't agree, we were no angels, but the worst thing we did was to break into the builders' cabin and make a brew. My dad found out and all hell was let loose. We respected older people, we called them ''Mr or Mrs''. I really hope you didn't throw stones at old ladies' windows.
