Pensioner Murder: Two Teens Arrested

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the murder of Paula Castle, the Metropolitan Police have said.

The boys are aged 14 and 15, according to a statement released by  Scotland Yard.

"The males ... are in custody and will be taken to a London police station in due course," the statement read.

"They have been arrested on suspicion of murder and robbery, the latter count relating to a separate incident on 20 November."

Mrs Castle lived alone in Westbridge Gardens, Greenford. She died after she was allegedly robbed in an alleyway on Monday at around 1.50pm.

The widow, who was registered blind, was initially taken to Ealing Hospital with a head injury.

She was later transferred to St Mary's Hospital but her condition deteriorated and she died in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police have continued to appeal for witnesses to the attack to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to call the incident room on 0208 7214868 or, to remain anonymous, to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
