Pete Waterman plotting Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan reunion
Pete Waterman is eyeing a Christmas concert for Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan after their planned onstage reunion was cancelled.
The Australian pop stars were set to perform their 1988 duet Especially For You live in London's Hyde Park on 11 July but the Hit Factory event was called off due to heavy rain.
Waterman has now sparked speculation of a festive reconciliation between the pair by announcing plans for a December gig at the O2 Arena in the capital, according to the Press Association.
He says, "We are going to do it again at Christmas. We are going to do two nights at the O2 or at least one night, we've just got to confirm one artist who is due to go home for Christmas, I'll give you a clue there.
"I just have to convince that artist to stay here until at least Christmas Eve and we can do it all the way we want to."
The Hit Factory show was planned as a tribute to the Stock Aitken Waterman songwriting and producing partnership of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman.
The trio released a string of hits in the '80s and '90s in association with pop acts including Sinitta and Bananarama.
