Plane's Aborted Take-Off Panic Shown In Video
Passengers were evacuated from a Florida-bound airliner after it suffered a mechanical failure during take-off.
Airline officials said US Airways Flight 1702 was heading to Fort Lauderdale from Philadelphia International Airport when the pilot was forced to abort take-off at around 6.30pm on Thursday after the front landing gear collapsed.
Two passengers needed medical assistance following the accident, but no serious injuries were reported.
Victoria Lupica, a spokeswoman for the airport, said the Airbus 320 was carrying 149 passengers and five crew.
Three of the airport's four runways were re-opened within hours of the crash, but the affected runway remains closed. All passengers were put on to alternative flights.
