Police Release Shocking Hit-And-Run Footage

Police in the US have released CCTV footage after a spate of a hit-and-run incidents in the Buffalo region.

The latest happened last Thursday when three pedestrians were crossing a street.

The group can be seen dashing for the pavement when a car drives between them, sending one victim flying through the air, before speeding off.

Police arrested the driver, 19-year-old Tornubari Gbaraba, minutes later.

The victim, who sustained a number of injuries, has now been released from hospital.

Buffalo mayor Byron Brown said: "The footage is extremely graphic.

"The purpose for showing this video footage is to dramatise how dangerous hit-and-run accidents are."

According to reports, Thursday's incident was one of three hit-and-runs during an 18-hour period in the Buffalo area of New York State.
