Police Seek Man Over Stolen Phone Selfie
Police looking into a phone theft have released a 'selfie' image of a man they would like to speak to.
The picture of the man was taken on the phone after it was stolen from a handbag in a Newcastle nightclub on Saturday, May 24.
The photo, taken at the LQ club, was automatically uploaded to the victim's online account.
Other pictures were also uploaded and one of those included a comment mentioning Aberdeen.
Investigating officer PC Emma Tatusko said: "A number of enquiries have been carried out and we now have an image of a man we need to contact.
"We're keen to speak to the man in the image as it's believed he may have important information about the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen phone.
"He may have come into possession of the phone in good faith and I'd urge him or anyone who recognises him to contact police as soon as possible so they can help with our enquiries."
Anyone with information can call Newcastle Police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 877 25/05/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
