Poynter wins jungle show
Mcfly star Dougie Poynter has been crowned the winner of reality TV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
The pop rocker was among a number of stars who set up camp in the Australian jungle to take part in the survival show and the bassist emerged triumphant on Saturday's finale after 22 days of tasks and trials.
Poynter saw off competition from TV personality Mark Wright, who found fame in another reality show The Only Way Is Essex, in the grand final.
After winning the title, the bassist said, "I'm lost for words, my mouth is so dry. These have been the best couple of weeks of my life."

I think the result was really close this year. If I had been betting on it I would have said Mark Wright but that was really because Dougie is very poshly spoken and I would have expected that to go against him in the telephone vote but then again he was exceptionally nice and he is also classically good-looking which doesn't hurt with the girls or the pink vote.

He only won that because of the mc fly fan base, nothing else, all the wee screaming girlies got him there

It s an enjoyable few hours of laid back tv entertainment. However, I only wish that the program would get the term 'jungle' out of the equation. There is no Jungle per se in Oz. Where it is filmed is a 'Rain Forest'. As a true blue Ozzy myself I know full well that in Oz Jungles do not exist. The Mulga, the bush, the outback maybe, but no no no- no Jungles. It would sound so much better to be crowned King/Queen of the Rain Forest surely? If you want the title to include Jungle, film it in Africa please?

'Doug is very poshly spoken'? Duh! What a country we live in now when one has to speak badly to become a hit? Priorities all wrong surely? No wonder the outside world looks on in amazement? Finally it is no wonder 'My Fair Lady'' features the song 'Why can't the English teach their children how to speak'? Notice how mostly the more erudite contestants got voted off first? Dougie clever chap managed to win by not making too many waves and hence slipped under the radar so to speak.

I love watching I'm a Celeb, much better entertainment than the other reality shows. I always miss it when it ends.
